"Judith Skillman sings. She sings of home so as to define it. She sings home back to origins, both Hebrew and Hellenic, that give it warmth and meaning. Her precise, quick-stepping lyrics help us find out own way home, and to face the mystery of never fully knowing it." -- David Hamilton
Judith Skillman is the winner of numerous awards, including the Eric Mathieu King Fund from the Academy of American Poets and the William Stafford Award from the Washington Poets Association. Her poems and translations have appeared in The Iowa Review, Northwest Review, Poetry, Southern Review, Prairie Schooner, Malahat Review, and many others. She teaches humanities at City University in Bellevue, Washington.
